Conventional multiple suppression tecniques (e.g. f-k or parabolic t/p filters) often suffer from poor performance on real field data. One important reason can be a non-optimal choice of the procedural parameters. The f-k filtering technique, for instance, require a careful definition of the move-out correction and of a proper rejection area in the f-k planes - Wrong settings of these parameters can cause the suppression of primaries along with multiples, and it is sometimes challanging to establish the optimal values: of the parameters for a given seismic dataset. Predictive methods often fail to satisfactorily attenuate multiple energy due to the difficulty to correctly model the observed multiples.

Abstract
Conventional multiple suppression tecniques (e.g. f-k or parabolic t/p filters) often suffer from poor performance on real field data. One important reason can be a non-optimal choice of the procedural parameters. The f-k filtering technique, for instance, require a careful definition of the move-out correction and of a proper rejection area in the f-k planes - Wrong settings of these parameters can cause the suppression of primaries along with multiples, and it is sometimes challanging to establish the optimal values: of the parameters for a given seismic dataset. Predictive methods often fail to satisfactorily attenuate multiple energy due to the difficulty to correctly model the observed multiples.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
