Stomach content analysis of adult European anchovies and sardines (Clupeiformes) are shown. Fish were caught by lampara purse seine net (fishing with light) in the Gulf of Trieste during May-October 2001-2002. Both species were strictly zooplanktivorous with small copepods dominating their diet. Feeding strategy was analysed with the graphical Costello method.
