The investigated area is located offshore, south of Salento Peninsula, characterized by the convergence between the accretionary wedge of the Calabrian Arc and the Apulian foreland. Based on swathbathy-metric and seismic data we pointed out the main features of the margin which shows different characteristics from NW to the SE. We assigned a limit between the two sectors, coincident with an elongated area, striking the margin, where the activity of a strike-slip system would have influenced the recent tectonic evolution of the area and consequently the morphology of the Apulian slope.
