The ShakeMaps are generated for the South-Eastern Alps area after a regional calibration to set the model on the local conditions. The model for the Friuli Venezia Giulia region is validated comparing the macroseismic observations with the instrumental intensity ShakeMaps derived by the synthetic seismograms that are computed for three past earthquakes occurred in the studied area. Since a good validation requires that the simulation is identical to the real situation, the receivers are placed at the sites where the recording instruments are already operative and where the stations will be installed.
