The occurrence of harmful and Non Indigenous Species (NIS) was investigated in plankton and benthic assemblages in the port of Trieste in 2014-2015. The diatom Pseudo-nitzschia multistriata (Takano) Takano, 1995 and the copepod Pseudodiaptomus marinus Sato, 1913 were reported as NIS in plankton assemblages, whereas among macrofaunal communities the non-indigenous polychaete Notomastus aberans Day, 1957 and the bivalve Arcuatulasenhousia Benson in Cantor, 1842 were recorded. Different harmful microalgae were also found. Finally, cysts of the dinoflagellate Alexandrium margalefii Balech, 1994 were identified in the sediments and reported for the first time in this area.

Abstract
Finally, cysts of the dinoflagellate Alexandrium margalefii Balech, 1994 were identified in the sediments and reported for the first time in this area.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
