The report refers to the seismic survey "while drilling" carried out in the MIGNANO 1 well drilled by the HYDRO DRILLING Ltd. company. Seisbit, a seismic-while-drilling (SWD) system developed by ENI E&P and OGS, uses the noise produced by the drill-bit as a seismic source. The system provides real-time borehole seismic information that can significantly reduce drilling risks and costs, improve drilling efficiency, enhance well-control safety, while increasing reservoir productivity without the introduction of tools into the well. The objective of the drilling was to look for the Marnoso Arenacea formation, and to verify the presence of fluids in the reservoir. Since there were uncertainties about the depth of the top of the reservoir, the SEISBIT while drilling survey was carried out in order to provide information, in real time, on eventual variations in the lithological characteristics of the formations that still had to be drilled through, so as to be able to make the correct choices for the drilling procedures to reach the reservoir.

Abstract
Since there were uncertainties about the depth of the top of the reservoir, the SEISBIT while drilling survey was carried out in order to provide information, in real time, on eventual variations in the lithological characteristics of the formations that still had to be drilled through, so as to be able to make the correct choices for the drilling procedures to reach the reservoir.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
